Okay here is my problem. Today I just changed my filter media and the out put is a lot stronger. This a good thing though. My problem is that my floating plants keep getting caught in the flow and blowing all around in a big circle cause they can't get out of the flow. Even when I pull them out of it they find their way back to the flowing water. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to keep them back? Also all of the little "baby" plants that popped off of the bigger ones are getting sucked up against the intake tube and it's sucking them into the filter. What should I do? Thanks. ;D

The only suggestion I have is to maybe place a foam at the inlet of the intake, so It doesn't suck up plants or frys.  I have done this in one of my tank so it won't suck up any small fishes, however, doing this will not let the power filter suck up bigger items/waste in your tank.  I read from a newsgroup that one dude stated
"I have found that with the aquaclear filters you will end up with a ball of duckweed hanging onto the inlet of the aquaclear.  This problem can be overcome by not allowing the duckweed to approach too close to the outlet flow (ie. to ensure that they are not pushed below the water surface).  I do this by placing a plastic bag (suitable size), with both ends cut out of it, under the outlet, so that the floating plants are separated frow the water flowing out of the filter.  If you use a clear bag, you hardly notice it when you look at your tank."

Well as of right now I have no "floating" plants. They are all in a big wad under one of my giant hygros where they were forced by my filter. The rest are sucked up against the intake tube. I will try the plastic bag thing. I though maybe even putting a rounded peice of plastic around where the water comes out to keep it all back from the flow. I will try it and let you know how it goes. ;D
