i heard that a flowerhorn is a man-made fish....is this true?
what special types of conditions does a flowerhorn need to do well in a tank?
im interested in getting one but am unsure if i should put it in a tank with my other cichlids or to get a tank solely for itself

I think first you need to evaluate what you currently have. You're pretty heavily overstocked and will be needing considerably larger tanks [or ponds!] in the near future if your fish reach their potential.

Flowerhorns are hybrids, created by mixing together two fish which would never encounter each other in the wild. They can be aggressive and also can get pretty large -- about the size of an oscar.
