Ok i got my water bill this month for oceanside california. They put notice in that i must get answers on. Starting November 2007 they are going to add flouride to the water, will this affect the fish tanks at all? will i need to get special chemicals to remove fluoride? I add the stress coat stuff to remove chlorine and thing from water, but don't know what to do if anything about fluoride. Any input or answers welcome.

Flouride actually often occurs naturally in ground and surface waters. Though what they add to water at treatement plants is in a different form. From what I understand it posses no threat to fish and you do not need to do anything to remove it. In large concentrations it can be harmful but the levels they add to water for dental purposes is nothing to be worried about.
