Hello everyone! I just wanted to say hello and thanx already for all of the helpful info regarding my new hobby. First off I would just like to take a moment and explain my situation with my current tank. Does anyone have any expierence with the Fluval 2 Plus filters by Hagen? I purchased this internal filter from a LFS about a week ago and placed it in my new 55 gallon tank. This particular model has an indiacator that pops up when it needs to be changed... Or does it go down? Actually I have no idea and cannot find any info on this at all. Now I know what eveyone must be saying... "When you got it and turned it on was it up or down?" Well to be honest with you, the filter does have a power selector and if you inscrease the power of the filter the indicator goes down. Does anyone have this filter? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? By the way, I also have a Penguin 330 w/ the bio wheels and that has been running great so far. Does anyone have suggestions on what tye of media goes in the bio baskets? My tank is about 1 month old now and could be a litlle clearer. I have purchased a test kit and checked my levels. PH is a little high but in the norm, Amonia is at 0 and Nitrite is almost too high. I've done some water changes with no significant drop in nitrite. Just some thoughts I had on the top of my head. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Other than that all fish are healthy and active and the live plants are flourishing.
