I have run across several of these on Ebay for a pretty good price. Has anybody had these before? Are they cheap becuase they suck; or because fuval released the new modles?

Thanks.

I have a Fluval 303. It is a great filter, just make sure you use the right media for the filters (sponge, ceramics, pellet carbon) and you should have crystal clear water. 30-40 gallon tank is what I is well rated for.

The recent model is the Fluval 304. The 304 is square vs the round 303 and the water moves across sideways in the 304, not up and down like the 303.

I prefer the 303 over the 304 myself. But I have only been using it for a few weeks, so keep that in mind, however I have read mostly positive reviews about the 303.

i have a little experience with the 303....i think it is an OK filter -not so much that it is a BAD filter, just that there are MUCH better filters for the same amount of money.

however, if you are a fluval fan and you can get a good price on one that might not be a bad idea.

Thanks guys. Ive just been poking around on ebay trying to find a good deal on a canister, one that the lady will agree paying for.

Im not really a fan of any brand canister, as Ive never had one before. Gotta jump in sometime I guess!
