i have a fluval 404 that has been been filtering my 2-turtle, 55 gallon aquarium for about 8 months now. In the last few weeks it has begun to rattle. I had recently cleaned it before it began to rattle, and I havent put anything big enough to clog it in there since then. I probably don't clean this filter out often enough, just when the nitrate levels become unsafe.
Any idea what the rattling might be? It's continuous, pretty loud, sounds kinda like when air gets into the system, but there's no air coming out, even when I bump the filter (usually bubbles stream out when I bump it and there's air inside).
Any help would be appreciated.
