Hello, I'm a newbie to the tank, and I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Fluval internal filters. I have one of the Hawkeye Aquatank V aquariums, and since the undergravel filter does such a lousy job of circulating the water (3 degrees temperature difference between each side of a 5 gallon tank), I put in a Fluval 1 Plus filter which already does a much better job of circulating the water. The other reason I put it in is the tank has been up for a month and the ammonia keeps increasing, but so far no nitrites. My guess is the lousy circulation probably wasn't helping the bacteria at all. I would put in an HOB filter, but it would require doctoring the hood significantly to put one in. Thanks for any tips!
