my tank is foggy can annyone help me make it not foggy and it has been foggy for almost a whole week

How long has the tank been set up? Sound like it has a white haze? May just be a bacteria bloom which will work itself out in a week or two.

i bought this stuff so you can keep live plants in sand and ive had th entier tank about a week

Fish in the tank? If there are, then you have not cycled the tank. That could be the cause as well. Keep an eye on ammonia and nitrite if there's fish in there, keep the levels below .5ppm.

i knew i had to cycle it but i wanted 2 mollies in there. will it ever clear up? dont test kits cost alot tho

Since you are cycling with fish, then it may take you 4-8 weeks of constant water changes. If you don't change the water, then the fish won't last.

As for test kits, don't get them at the lfs. Here's what I use, and it's even on sale. Regular price at bigalsonline is 15.99....

Yes, the cloudiness will go away, but right now you need to concentrate on the health of the fish

Most fish stores will test your water for free. So, you could try that.

You might also try to convince your mom that you're interested in the science behind the tank, and that a test kit would help your understanding (and hopefully, it will). Many parents are happy to pay for something educational.

Most LFS's will test your water for free. Do that until you can get a test kit.

haha that would be a juke ill tell that to my mom but she alredy knows that i pulled that on her to get the tank and everything else so ill try to get it tested

I think you could get some test strips for $5 or so. I don't use them so I am not sure what they cost, but I think they are around $5 or so.

no there like 8 or 9 and i olny have a dollar haha in quarters lol im poor ive spent all my money on fish stuff alredy

Have you done a water change yet? If not, you need to be doing water changes every few days to give your fish the best chance to survive the cycle.

also how mutch better is a bio weel i bave one but i dont know why some people like them so mutch more

A Bio-Wheel is good because it means you can change filter media without worrying about causing problems. It makes your tank more stable in the long run than a filter without bio media. The Bio-Wheel basically gives the good bacteria somewhere to live with the oxygen and water they need.
