well i been using algae waffers for my cories. its made by warden or something like that.

anyways at first it was really great and my cories cant complain. but latley i noticed that even though the bag said it wont cause cloudy water...it SURE DOES!

it doesnt become cloudy at first but when the cories start eating it in the first hour or so, it breaks into smaller particles, that usually gets caught up into the filter....but it even breaks up into smaller tiny particles that cloud my water.

i thought it was just a new tank syndrome at first, so i put it in my crystal clear tank...just for the heck of it..and sure enough it got cloudy.

the product said take out the waffers after 12 hours...but in 12 hours they turn to dust after the cories ate it.

anyways what can i use? what have you guys used without this issue? sinking pellets? anything but this brand...anything easy

i had to do alot of water changes to attempt to get this tank clear...

thanks...oh and i try to vacumn the stuff off the floor every week

sand substrate as well, 10 gallon only holding 2 cories for now. ignore my signature...and the tank has been set up for 3 months...

i feed 1 time every 2 days

I feed my royal pleco wardley sinking algae wafers, and between him, the loaches, and the ghost knife, it's gone within an hour... I feed about twice a week, and so far the water has looked fine.

Maybe the cories take too long to eat it?

cories may jsut take too long to eat it.

a girl at the petstore gave me an idea to cut a alge waffer in half and then slightly break it up so that the cories can hunt around the whole tank for that food...and having sand substrate is a plus.

i went and bought some shrimp ones but it seems that its hard for the cories to eat it, but they love it...i think they like to search for food!

perhaps when i get more cories so i can build a school then the food will be gone alot faster...

now i burry my food..about a few mm under the sand.

the cories LOVE trying to find them they dig and dig and when they get it they are happy!!

hahah its soo cute when they dig, they go at a 90 degree angle to the ground and just start digging!

i had to do this also because the other fish will start nipping (danios and female betta) at the pellets when it comes in the tank, so if i put it underground they wont see it as much and the cories can eat it...

usually i put about 4 small fish pellets every 2-3 days...and the algae waffers i use only half every day...it cuts down off of crap in the tank.
