Well, it is closer to you...than it is to me =)

I have an idea for you if you ever visit Bend: check out Fish & Pets, then help me petition to have them shut down =D

I swear its like amazing for me to go to real fish stores in cities, to see people who actually know what the crap they're doing. Around here, it's sad to say, but Petco is your best bet. At least its clean and the fish guy knows whats up. The other two fish stores are total utter crap. Forget about diseased fish, you're likely to catch something yourself walking into these places.

At least I can always say I live 30 minutes from Dave Soares =P

Habitat
Prefering clearer waters than S.leichardti Gulf saratoga is usually found in the upper reaches of the rivers within its distribution, inhabiting both still billabongs and fast flowing streams. Like S.leichardti Gulf Saratoga are solitary territorial fish.

Distribution
Gulf saratoga have patchy distribution throughout North Queensland and most of the Gulf of Carpentaria drainage system to as far west as the Adelaid River (East of Darwin in the Northern Territory).

I hear your pain as far as good stores is concerned. I think that as far as all of Oregon goes we really have to travel to Portland to find anything really good. I only really shop at PetCo and PetsMart because of the lack of other choices. But luckily I am moving to the Portland area in three weeks so I will have a lot of other choices.
