I've got way too much of this stuff! They are both floating plants, but I think we all know what riccia can be used for They are grown in a high-light, high-nutrient, CO2 enriched enviornment. Absolutely no visible algae. My tank is algae free.
Phyllanthus Fluitans is a red-rooted, floating plant. It requires high, intense light. The more the merrier. It does best at 3.5wpg and up. I'd say the minimum is 3.0 wpg. If you have enough light, it will always flower. It's a very good looking floating plant, probably one of, if not the best of all. It is also very nutrient hungry. It grows a "mother plant," and propagates when leaves break off of the mother plant to become it's own mother plant. This plant is very easy to keep in check, unlike duckweed. I recommend owners of "high tech" tanks to keep this one.
Riccia: $5 per bunch. A "bunch" is far larger than you will get at an online vendor (about 1 teaspoon...hah!). I would say a bunch is a little larger than your driver's liscence/credit card, but much thicker. My floating riccia has formed "pillows" already, so you will get something about 4"x2"x1"
P. Fluitans: $3 per bunch. A bunch is a little larger than the riccia size. I'm usually pretty generous, so don't worry about not getting enough per bunch. All of mine is flowering.
Shipping: USPS only, unless you want to pay for UPS or FedEx delivery (ask me about this). You have the option of Priority Mail or Overnight (Express) delivery. Priority is $5, Overnight is $14. I will not gaurantee you a suitable plant with priority mail. You will take your chances, but this time of year is far better than during the heat of the summer. Ship date is Monday or Tuesday the 25th or 26th. Depends on when work allows me time to get to the post office.
How do I get the plants? Email me (do not use PM): djr21@hotmail.com. Include "MFT Plants" in the subject line so I will recognize it if it gets caught in my junk mail box. Payment is via Paypal to the above email addy. Snail-mail can be used to send cash, at my discretion (email me). No checks.
Supplies are limited. First come, first serve. Depending on the number of requests, I reserve the right to limit quantities, but not the size of the bunch.
