Freddie seems to be ill...he is a crowntail and almost all his finage(?) is gone. I am assuming its fin-rot. I have taken him out of the tank he was in and put him in my little hospitle tank. (little one gallon small things)Now he wont eat and is really lathargic. He has no other outward signs of illness, just his fins...I've been trying to treat the fin rot by just keeping the water parameters clean...which is what I read to do. Any idea? I have tried flake food which he was eating (betta flake food), the betta pelets, and even frozen brine shrimp(thawed of course, but no one will eat these for some reason...I think its cause they settle to the bottom to fast). Out of desperation to not lose him I have put a 7 day feeder block in his tank, but I am still trying to feed him flakes. When Joe was ill (hes better now, and building a nest!) I had to change his water every day and did 1 round of betta fix and one round of the blue stuff you can use for them to treat bactiera. I know everyone on here is all about non-chemical, so I wanted to see what else I could do before I tried them agian.

pimafix (probably the blue stuff) and bettafix

Yep, those work. Be careful not to go hog wild with the bettafix. It's something like a 1/10th dosage of melafix, which, if overdosed, can destroy your betta's labyrinth organ. So you'd have to overdose an overdose to kill him. Basically just don't dump the whole bottle in there.
