I have an older (I would say roughly 4yrs) rena filstar xp2. It will turn on if you prime it by following their instructions exactly. It has some sort of problem with self priming, when I have unplugged it and then plugged in back in (after a couple of minutes) you can hear the motor spinning but it will not pump water. I have tried various things and have not been able to fix this maybe others will be able to. Its free, I just hope someone can use it. If you are in the Phoenix, AZ area you can come pick it up. I'm not that interested in shipping it, but if you want it and think you can fix it post a reply and we can try and figure out the shipping costs (you pay).
Again, I considerate it broken, it does not work as well as I think it should, but all of the main parts (tubes, propeller, casing, latches are in good shape). I guess now that I think of it, this would make a good parts filter for someone else with an xp2.
