Freshwater Limitations

I wouldn't call it a limitation, but it's generally a good rule to follow, yes.

yes and no... Its a good guidline but in large tanks with tons of filtration its not so much. In 30 and under tanks with minimum filtration its a rule id say

This guideline really only applies to a small group of community fish that as adults rarely reach 3-4 inches. Think along the lines of most tetra's, barbs and such. Get into larger fish and the guide line falls apart because mostly of territorial needs.

To me, the "so called one inch rule" is a bunch of bull crap. It has so many rule benders. Sure its great for small fish. But would you cram a 20" Dovi into a 20gal? Or would you put a 10" Mayan cichlid into a 10gal?
