Is a 55 gal too small for 1 Frontosa and 2 Kenyiis? My LFS just got two small Frontosas in and they look so cool :) I know it will get around a foot long so I am not sure if a 55 gal is big enough for it. Ive had no luck looking around on the internet as I am getting conflicting facts. Let me know

i had a pair in my 55 gal with about 6 Mbuna.they only had fry twice (all got eaten).after about 1.5 years they got to be 6".the fuelleborni and pseudo,s were the same size so i didnt have much aggression.i have an outlet to sell my fish when they get to big for my tank, sold them for about 100$ .yes a 55gal is way to small for fronts if you want them long term in that tank.

pretty well covered already :)

i would venture to say that kenyi (M. lombardoi) are much more aggressive than your frontosas.

the problem is that frontosas are a gregarious piscivore, whereas kenyi are algae-eating mbuna......so it would be extremely difficult to provide a proper diet for both fish in the same tank

plus, large male fronties could (and likely would) eat kenyi.

Sorry C-man i wasent clear, i ment for them to thrive they nedd to be in groups. and 12 in a 120???? thats only 10Gal. per fish, for Juvies OK but not for Adults
yeah, that is a bit overstocked.

what most people do is raise 10-14 juvies in a large tank like that and than thin out the males as they mature.

the goal (generally anyway) is 1-2 males per 7+ females.
