frozen food

heys guys--dumb question:

when i feed my fish frozen cubes---i cut a piece of cube and put it in my fish net and rinse it with tap water until all the juice is out and then feed the actual pieces of mysis shrimp to my fish.
is that the right way or should i jus put the piece of cube right in the tank?

I ussually use a shot glass and fill it with tank water and let it defrost, then strain it with a net and feed it to my fish. I dont know about thawing it with tap water but this way just gets some of the nasty jucies from the cube/

that sounds like a good idea as well---do you think its bad that i do it using fresh water rather than actual tank/salt water???
