Fry Tank

I have a 15 gallon tank setup for my African cichlid fry. I currently have 12 yellow labs about 10 weeks old that are on average 3/4" long. Very healthy too. I've been feeding freshly hatched brine shrimp three times a day + cichlid flake.

My questions is would it be ok two add a holding female to this tank a few weeks before I think she is ready to let go of her fry? There is plenty of rock cover for both. She has been holding the hatched eggs for about a week now.

I would make a basket out of the white canvas craft material big enough for her and put it in the tank. the babies will be able to swim through large sized canvas but she wont be able to eat/kill the other babies...unless you think she will leave them alone, then I would say go for it. I have seen it done either way.
