how long does it take fry to get from tadpole looking to looking like a little baby fish? i seen fry in there last week but thought they wouldve gotten eaten. possibly 1 made it. i thought it may be a neon but it looked like it had a dark patch on its back fin. i seen him come out of the moss for a minute or 2 then he went back in. the insides of the moss look half way decently clean now that i was looking.

anybody have any idea who couldve bred them? at first they were little yellow babies when they looked like a tadpole. or would this be too early to tell. ive been wondering if it was one of the platies that i bought unless my swordtails finally mated which is possible because the red and neon are always hanging together like lovers. i feel bad for the painted female i just bought yesterday. she looks a little lonely. they dont even all hang together. the female red even follows around the male ALL the time and vice versa.

the more and more i look at it i think it is a velvet wag swordtail with the dark coloration on the fins and if the light hits it right i notice a red glare. i think this little guy is gonna make it. guess i need to start finding homes for the babies if some are going to be making it with all my breeding fish in the tank, livebearers mainly. im surprised i havent seen any neon fry for as long as ive had them
