FS: Coralife 48" Light

#1
I just wanted to post this thread BEFORE setting up an auction on eBay. I have for sale a slightly used Coralife Light (purchased in late July). It came with 4x65 watt bulbs and also has the three 3/4 watt led moonlights. It has three separate switches so each pair of lights and the blue LED can be wired separately. This unit began to overheat and a pair of the end caps was starting to melt. (I was keeping it under a hood that wasn’t ventilated.) I contacted Coralife and they sent me four new end caps and I replaced them and the unit works fine now. As of now, the unit contains 2 5500k bulbs and 2 50/50’s. I have a single 10k bulb you can have if you want. I dropped the other 10k that it came with. The model number is 53406. A complete description can be found here. I’m asking 200.

this particular arrangment of bulbs i find peculiar, usually for SW we use 2x10,000k and 2xactinic

2x5500k and 2x 50/50’s (10,000k and actinic) is a lot of white/yellow with a little blue...probably for appearance

not sure what it was used for, but im guessing plants...you could put any spectrum of bulbs in there you wanted though

To be quite honest, I had all 4 bulbs replaced at 5500k from AHSupply about 4 days after I got it. As a result of the end caps, two of the bulbs were toast when I pulled them out. So i was left with 2 5500k, 2 10k and 2 50/50's. As I walked over to test the new caps, my English Bull decided to jump on me, resulting in the demise of 1 10k. Hence the weird lighting scheme.
