Hi, I have a convict that has white like cotton spots (large) on the base of his fin. I want to treat him, but he and the misses have babies right now. Is it safe to treat the tank or should I take him out to treat him. I thought maybe I could dip him and then put him back in. But, not sure what he would do after being away from the babies and then back with them. He might eat them or something or the misses might not reconize him. Anybody, have some thoughts on what I can do. Thanks

hi fishplay you should be able to treat them in the tank with the babies i have a similar situation and have treated my tank with the babies in it, as i was told make sure you take out any carbon filters and treat the tank. sounds like culminarus like what mine have treat with i believe an anti-bacterial and antibiotic. the babies should be fine.

Sounds like a plan, I started dipping him in a really high ant. fungus solution yesterday. Only for 20 seconds at a time. I haven't looked at him today to see how he looks. But, I am hoping it works otherwise, I think I will put him in another tank and dose him. I think the babies are old enough to be ok with just mom.
