funny fish??

Fire Eel is acting really weird and has been doing so for a month or so. By funny I mean during the day he stays upside down belly up inside the cave. When I first saw it I thought Oh crappie he is dead. Then I walked up closer and he saw me and flipped back over and swam up to the glass. I was like wow never seen that. I thought they couldn't just sit like that upside down and live? Any ideas why this is going on? Here are a few pics that I took a few minutes ago. I can't get a good one because of the angle he is at. He looks dead!! He's not!

just a possibility, it could have swim bladder disease, but not likely if it comes to you right side up. it could just be a habit. one of my fish used to lay on its side all day until it was feeding time then it came up to the surface and at with the others.

my platy did that. it caught on to the other fish and at one time i had 3 fish that all did that. thats normal.......ithink......

Maybe swim bladder, but if his swimming is normal maybe he just wants a belly rub (-:

My dad's cory is starting to do this. It sleeps upside down and then when you turn the light on he's normal. It's really weird.
