FYI - Melafix & Starfish Trouble

In an attempt to save our "eroding" formia starfish, we gave a single dose of Melafix into the reef tank.
On day 2, we saw amazing results in healing and wound control.
By day 5 our fella was all clear and eating well.

I am not making claim for Melafix as a wonder remedy, although our experiences with it in both freshwater and marine have been more than satisfactory.

Disclaimer: Use caution when using any remedy.

In marine, be sure to shut off your protien skimmer when using Melafix.... heh. oops.

yes melafix does wonders although your right there is no miracle remedy.i use melafix for almost anything and that usualy stops the problem cold.anytime i see a scrape or hole in a fin i use melafix and healing starts righ away.i have always wondered how it would affect inverts and the such but now we know.thanks for the heads up on that exodon

This tank is a 70 gal divided into three. I had a red/grey star that was awesome, but unfortunatly..we lost him to another problem earlier.

what is the scientific name for that red star??
