Is it ok to put GBR's in a community tank with swordtails and some Black Skirt tetras?My community tank is 29gal.

I'd say yes, a pair would probably be ok. Assuming its not packed full of swords or tetras and thats all thats in there.

Unless you have soft water don't expect any fry to survive. Like CM said they should be fine. Do make sure you acclimate them slowly as lots of LFS keep them in soft water tanks..least round here they do. Also keep your water quality up to par, they don't tolerate bad WQ very well.

Yes where i live the water is soft.All i have in the tank are 4 black skirts and 2small swordtails.Would it be alright if i added a keyhole cichlid or should i just add more tetras?

I think it would be ok. Keyhole cichlids aren't aggressive,but i would only get 1 since they can get 4 to 5 inches.
