i was looking at freshwater profiles under cichlids. as you can see in my signature i wasnt planning on getting any because most cichlids are aggressive from what i have heard. but the ones i noticed were the blue and gold ram cichlids. in the information it said they are one of the least aggressive species of cichlids and could stay in a community tank with out hurting them...... what i was wondering if any one has them and if they would be a good idea? also i was wondering how long they get? please help:confused::confused::confused: German Blue Ram this is the link.

Um...WTF

At just under three inches fully grown, this fish would be an awsome addition to a community tank. I do think tho it needs more room, the 40 gal looks a bit crouded. also i'd buy at least one pair ( a male and female) Female has a more pinkish belly, and some blue sheen on her black spot. Heres a site to learn more on them:

I LOVE GBR's! They are pretty peaceful community fish going so far as living peacefully with Neon Tetras, Glowlight Tetras, Guppies, Panda Cories, &, a Brown B/N Pleco.

Yea good luck with them. make sure your water in your tank is very clean (oammonia and nitrites, and <20ppm nitrate) cuz otherwise theyll be uncomfortable. these things love clean water.

consider placing some flat driftwood or rocks in your tank. make some caves before you get them. also concider moving some of your fish from the 40 gal to other tanks, cuz with 6 cichlids, its going to be waay crowded.
