Greetings! Some of you might remember me from the "Help sex my rams" thread, where I had one goofy looking german ram that seems to have been a male. Well, guess what, he spawned with one of the females and then croaked a week later (after FINALLY getting some color to him).
So today, my LFS had a tank full of the same funny looking rams. After 45 minutes of watching the tank, I picked out two of the three that were "sparring" for real estate. I think they are males - tall spikes, long body, long extension on the dorsal fin. Spot telling is useless, these guys were pretty faded.
But my question: Did I make a mistake getting two of these guys???? Thursday is buy 1 get 1 free day, so two for $8.99, how can I not? This will make 3 females and 2 males in my 46 gallon, accurate (over)stocking list is in my profile.
Tank pictures (slightly outdated, I'll try to update them tonight) are here:
I think I have a lot of cover for them to hide. I can only think that I would be screwed if I ended up with two pairs and they spawned at the same time.
