OK i am buying a 60 gallon tank today, but i need to know what size stand to buy when i get one. I am looking online and can find a thousand for 55 gallon and another thousand for 75 and 90 gallon tanks, but i cannot find any for 60 gallon tanks, i found one crappy looking thing that said for 50/65 gallon tank.

I am looking for a black stand with cabinets underneath that will hold 60 gallon stand.

Would a 55 gallon stand fit a 60 gallon safely? I know the sizes are only different by 2/4 inch in lenght and about same for width... the 55 gallon stand sizes would hold the 60 gallon tank with no overhang, but the weight is my concern as the 60 gallon adds another 75-80 gallons with just water in it no decorations. So i am looking at an additional 90-100 lbs compared to the weight of 55 gallon to put on the stand.

I wouldn't have thought there would be that much difference in the construction techniques or materials on board built stands.I bet it's all the same thickness material. At the end of the day 5 gallon US is only another 20kg,not all that much really.

I got my 60 gallon tank, it is a beauty, cannot wait to set it up but must wait as i don't have filter, heater, stand or anything for it yet...lol.

I have sent email to LFS telling them what stand i like on the brochure he sent me, i am just waiting now for the price they will charge for it. Will be pine stand stained dark cherry red looking with canopy and storage underneath.
