Ghost shrimp are funny

I got 6 ghost shrimp for my 20 gallon, I was watching them for a while and decided to drop an algae wafer in with them, they all constantly fought over it for at least 45 min, I got a kick out of it. Thought I'd share my funny experience with you guys

Lol. My fish always chase eachother away from the bloodworms I put in its funny but I make sure they all get share.

hey, i just got some ghost shrimp the other day (16 for 2 bucks! ) and they are so cool! they ate the shrimp pellets i put in. ill probably go pick up some algae wafers for them now that i know they like em, thanks!

I'm not sure if the actually eat the wafer, but it's very funny to watch them fight over it. I out it in at about 7:00 last night, then when I woke this morning it was gone, it could have dissolved because I know a half dozen ghost shrimp can't eat a whole wafer.

Watching my Knight Gobies and Archerfish is a hoot during feeding time. I put freeze dried krill on the bottom of my hood (just wet it and stick it on there) and then the Archerfish spit at it to knock it down. Thing is the Knight Gobies know its up there too...So the Archerfish swim around forever, faking like they might spit at it, trying to fake the Gobies out, because as soon as it falls into the water its a free for all as to who actually gets it. However does usually does a mad dash around the tank while trying to eat the krill. Looks hilarious, "It's MINE!!!". Sometimes the Archerfish just jump out of the water and grab it, heh just to make sure they get the first bite.

I LOVE ghost shrimp...they match the seaglass in my tanks so every time I pass by I play "try to find the ghost shrimp." The first time I saw one swim up to the top and try to get flake food from the surface like the fish I just about fell over laughing...they're awesome

Ghost shrimp can jump ! my LFS sells them 15-20 for a buck, i feed them to our red eared slider turtles, when they get after them, those things come outta the water, if the top gets left of they make it out and thats at least 8 inches to clear the top of the tank

I think ghost shrimp are kinda freaky, like the insects of aquariums, lol =)

yah ghost shrimp are kinda creepy. Too bad they don't last longer in my tank. I can't seem to keep them all alive more than a few months. I even tried adding iodine, no luck...

Could someone please explain to me how you people are finding ghost shrimp or any shrimp that cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're like a buck fifty a piece in Washington...if you can find em'.

wow...did you try petsmart fishysmell? My petsmart has them for 29 cents each. I just got 7 yesterday. My lfs is alittle bit more expensive at about 40 cents I think, but they usually don't have very many.

Maybe they're just not readily available or very popular up there for some reason?

It could be. Everyone is going crazy about amanos up here so they're about 6.50 a pop. I don't usually see ghost shrimp (and not cause they're clear) in most of my fish stores so when they do come up they always charge too much.

I saw them at walmart for 26 cents a piece for ghosts, they had them by the 1,000's and I didnt see very many dead ones, you might wanna try there, but I'm still a little uneasy about buying fish form there
