Ghost shrimp sans aeration

Can a ghost shrimp be kept in a 3/4 gallon betta jar without aeration? If not, will a live plant (elodea) provide enough oxygen in the water?

i'm pretty sure it would be fine. i read at aquariumfish.net that you can keep 3 or 4 in a large fish bowl. Since you have a plant in there it would be fine. Probably want to cover the container though.
