ghost shrimp?

I was at my LFS today and they have ghost shrimp on sale for 35 cents each, now I was wondering if they would be good in a 5g to clean up the algae problem I'm having, and how many would be a ok # to get. Will they be ok in there with a betta??please any info ASAP would be greatly appreciated cause I would like to pick them up tomorrow, also if there is anything I should know about their living habits ie: what else do they need to eat, how do I adapt them to the water (is it the same as with fish), thanks in advance for any info.

i would think so i had them in my 20gl community tank they were good

I'm in Ontario, up in Petawawa about 2 hours west of Ottawa...How many do you think is a good #?

yeah thats not too far from me im lake erie i think i had 5 in my 20 gallon so maybe 2 or 3 would be good but im not sure

So I went and bought 5 ghost shrimp for my 5g tank with fuzzy the betta I called him fuzzy cause thats how his tank looks right now....I may pick up a couple more to help with clean up then move them to my 125g after the job is done....

i just put like 20 in my 29 gallon tank, but they dont last long, my clown knife kept eating them. about 5 would probably be good. i never fed mine, but again, they didnt last long.

If you put them in the 125 gallon they will most likely be eaten by the large fish in there. My old blue gorami ate my ghost shrimp.
