I have 3 Ghost shrimp. As of about a week ago one of them started to molt, or atleast what I thought to be molting. Granted I have never seen one molt or even start the molting process. I have however gone to bed then awoke to find a small exoskeleton floating at the top of my tank. In this past week he has gone from translucent to a very pale white and normally he walks the bottom just barely touching with each step, now he just lays in one spot shoveling food in his mouth. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with him?

When animals, such as shrimp and crabs, molt they're more likely to be preyed upon because they don't have their protective shell. Once his new shell grows in he'll probably start acting normal again.

he was also eating alot cause his shell floated away they tend to eat it after molting to gain back lost energy and nutrition from molting and to help the new shell grow and harden
