it turns out i've been hosting a really big bristleworm in my tank. my dad has mentioned seeing a worm/millipede thing before, but i saw it today, it's BIG. like 6 inches to a foot long (not sure). it's gray with white bristles, and pretty thick too. i almost caught it with tweezers but it crawled into some rock. would a normal bristleworm trap work on one this big, or do i have to rig something up? i also found my remaining emerald crab eaten up right near the worm's rock, so i'm assuming this worm is the culprit for both of my emerald crab deaths. so, build a trap, buy a trap, or any other suggestions?

well, turns out my emerald just molted :D at least i didn't lose him. i'm still gonna get that nasty worm out though. i'm gonna try a red film over a flashlight tonight and see if he's crawling around at night. yea, i hope there are no eggs, that'd suck. but my new six-line would hopefully take care of the baby worms!

i caught the beast! last night i used a red film over a flashlight and with the aid of my tank's lunar lighting, i found the huge worm cruising the open sand in the front of my tank. pulled it out with some tweezers. it had a fun trip down the toilet. it was about 6 inches long, white bristles, grey body but a red outline around the edges. i'm not sure if anyone is a bristleworm specialist and knows what kind it is, but that's what i had. i know there are some smaller half orange/half black ones in my fuge, but none like this guy. well, i hope he had a good run. adios giant bristleworm.
