Giant Snails

I am trying to find information on "giant peruvian snails". This may or may not be what they are actually called. They are about the size of a baseball.I saw them in the store and want to make sure of what they really are before I get any. If anybody knows, I'd appreciate any information!

I'm not sure about peruvian but my recent research tells me that apple snails are the biggest growing ones. They are often described as tennis-ball size if that helps at all. They're known by a few different names.

They 're cute and I have to try to find an lfs that carries them.
Golden apple snails and apple snails in general are attractive looking imo.

Hmmmm.... so if they are selling them that big, then not sure how old they are, which means I could buy them and they may not live long. I've had snails that lived a long time and never grown that big, so now I'm not sure what to do. They are selling them for $14.99 (Canadian) by the way.

Maybe if you shop around you can find a smaller (maybe baby) apple snails.

I've read on another thread not too long ago that they have a life expectancy of 2 years but I don't know how true that is.

I have a few snails already, different kinds, so I have no problem finding a variety. I just really want the huge ones lol.

the largest apple snail is the Pomacea canaliculata

mine are 4 years old and a lil bigger than golf balls

cana snails will destroy a planted aquarium in days so dont get one if you have plants you would like to keep
