Saw one of these yesterday in the lfs. Very cool, and they should be be ok in my 20H since they don't get very big. Too bad my tank isn't ready yet

There's probably other names for it too. Sometimes I think stores just make up names for Plecos that sound like they fit.

thats a pretty neat looking pleco, maybe you could get them to hold it for you untill your ready, unless your not planning to have you tank ready for a while yet?

I have a couple of those plecos in my tanks, and I think they are the most shy pleco I have (and I have quite a lot of different ones). There's one in my 18g tank that I am lucky if I see once every two months. They are very cute and attractive. If you do get one, they require driftwood to chew on and don't eat much algae.

I never saw mine either. I would beware buying these unseen as they vary a LOT between collection locales from mediocre to stunning

I was at the LFS yesterday and he was still there :) There wasn't a price listed for him, but pretty much all "specialty" Plecos around here go for $30-40 even when they're young.

My tank's cleared up and planted, so I've started cycling. In a week or so I'll probably add some fish. Not sure if he should be one of the first though.

Give it 6 months before any plecs go in. They are not easy fish really ,and I think they do better in a slightly dirty tank with 'gunk' for them to browse on.
