For the past week my usually active gold gourami has been sitting at the bottom of the tank, resting on the substrate. It'll come up (slowly) to get some food, and when the lights are off I'll see it on rare occasion coming up for air, but otherwise it is staying pretty still at the bottom.
When the lights were still off this morning I noticed it go up for air, and hang out in the middle for a few seconds, but I noticed instead of the normal effortless floating it kept moving its rear fin like it was swimming up stream or like it is being weighted down and had to work to stay floating. Is this a swim bladder problem?
(Water params are ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5-10)
Any ideas?
