My LFS has a gold nugget pleco & a royal pleco.

I had a standard pleco a while back & really grew to lick the fish – beyond his plat destruction habits.  (This was before I knew you could toss lettuce & cucumbers into the tank for them to eat…)

They are both ~$27, the best prices I have ever seen around here for either type.

I was wondering if y’all could help me decide to get one over the other or neither at all.

I’d put them into a 90-gallon tank with quite a bit of plants.  I’ve read that the gold nugget eats wood more than plants.  So this could be favorable.  They both end up growing to similar size.

Thoughts?  Comments?

Thanks much.

That is one good deal for those fish. The lfs that has them in area wants 50 for the goldnugget and 40 for they royal clown.  I would say go with the gold-nugget. They are cooler when they get big.  I saw a royal clown that was ugly as hell in a pet shop, but the smaller ones at a differnt one were cool.
