Do golden apple snails reproduce as quickly as regular apple snails do? I have 2 that are in a quarantine tank right now and I would like to split the two between my 10 and 20 gal tanks, without having a massive amount of snails at the end of the year. Any suggestions?

No, mystery/apple snails "hang" their egg sacs above water. So usually in a regular fish tank they have nowhere to hang their eggs. If you do see an egg sac around the rim of your tank, all you have to do is remove it. They are usually pinkish in color.

Golden apple snails are normal apple snails...and apple snails can have hundreds of babies out of one egg clutch, so I'd say that they reproduce quickly. However, the others are definitely correct, its easy to keep from having baby apple snails as long as you look thoroughly for egg clusters and remove them asap...or just dont have two apple snails together in a tank. If you have two together and they're not a male and female then you still wont have baby snails, but a single female or two females might still lay eggs even though they're not fertile. I have one in my tiger barb tank that lays eggs all the time, but she's alone so no little ones. check out The Apple Snail (Ampullariidae) Website for more info on them
