Goldfish Scales Missing

hey guys,

this message is kind of urgent. My boyfriend's little sister's fish just got over some ammonia burn and now the fish are having some after affects. After the burn cleared up, the scales fell off, which this picture shows on one of the fish. Did they fall off because of the burn or is there another underlying condition? In the next picture in this post is the Red Cap Oranda she has who's cap has lost all its red...any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks so much!!!

Did the missing scales have black coloration?

yeah i think they discolored ones were the ones that fell off....why to red caps lose the signature red cap sometimes?
