I have set up a new 4 ft tank for my tropical fish. I plan on using this tank to put in livebearing young that are about 6-8 weeks old until saleable size. I have 2 large goldfish in my other tropical tank. Is it ok to put the goldfish in the new tank to speed up the process as its getting rather crowded in the 2 ft tank the young are currently in.The tank was filled with filtered water. If it is ok,how long do I need to wait before I can remove the goldfish and put in the juveniles?

You really shouldn't be mixing Goldfish and Tropicals. They have different water needs, especially the temperature. Goldfish prefer a much lower temperature than tropicals. If you have two goldfish, you should probably consider making the new tank their home. Golfish need around 15-20 gallons each since they do produce lots of urine and feces.

You should also consider fishless cycling the tank. It would be much faster, especially since you have an established tank so you could seed the new tank with some cycled filter media.
