thats not the attitude to have!!! its a trial and error hobby, some things work for some tanks that may not work with others, all fis are a little different, some can be rated agressive and be completly bashful, and vice versa. you have no idea how many fish i have lost during this hobby, its probably close to a hundred (counting when i had fish as a teenager) you have just got to keep trying different things and see if they work since just last year i think i have lost i dunno maybe 20-30 fish or so, (mostly mollies platies but also some more expensive fish like my peacock eel and my violet goby) dont quit just because you experience something bad. say ok what happened, what went wrong, and see if there is an alternative that may work better.

I feel like a failure sometimes to Panther (like every time I look in to my SW fish tank), and trust me I've had some really bad experiences with fish. Just a couple days ago my 65 watt power sompact on my 30 gallon got destroyed! Then when I thought I fixed it ( bought a new bulb and everything), it worked for about 5 minutes. Then the bulb burnt out. Now I have to buy a completely new light! That experience costed me $90. Thats not alot for most people, but for a kid thats a lot! Even though I'm ticked off, I'll stick with this hobby. I think If you keep trying you will succeed!

I stopped counting how many and how much $ I've lost in fish. To this day I loose one every now n then. Eventually you stop trying to figure out why the fish mysteriously died and just learn to accept that fish die sometimes.

That doesn't in any way shape or form take away from this hobby and the reason we got into it.
