Hi all! :D

Right now, I am using a Hagen CO2 system in my 46-gal, but I guess they're only supposed to go in tanks 20-gals and below, so I'm in the market for a bigger, badder CO2 system. I'm kind of broke (stupid buying presents for people :p) but I still have time to put it in my letter to Santa! So, does anyone have any reccomendations on a good, not too terribly expensive CO2 system? I'd do DIY but it would probably end up exploding or something, and then I'd have to live in a smelly apartment until spring.

Thanks!

OK. Well this is what I am in the process of buying and maybe you'll get an idea of the costs because I don't have much $$ either!

1. 5lb Aluminum CO2 tank, www.beveragefactory.com $60
2. Dual guage CO2 regulator, www.beveragefactory.com $40
3. B-4MG2 Needle valve, 1/4 in. Male www.swagelok.com $40
4. Boyu co2 diffusor, www.aquatic-store.com $20

So you see it does cost $$ (and these are the cheapest prices I have found anywhere. Of course you have to have the LIGHTING to make use of the CO2!!! Once you buy everything, however it is much easier to run (it only costs 12.00 to fill up the tank!)

I have listed the regulator and needle valve seperately for a reason. Too many people out there buy regulator, needle valve, check valve (which is already a part of the regulator indicated above) bubble counter, solenoid (which is useless I have ran my tank 24/7 it is just easier) and other useless parts. They're nice but ultimately IMO, unecessary. Just some thoughts...hope Santa brings you everything that you want!
