I haven't looked at it but I saw an ad in the paper here.

90 gallon (48x18x24) Oceanic brand tank with light oak cabinet. Drilled with a 10gallon sump. Includes a protein skimmer. Lots of live rock. $600 obo.

Is this a good deal? What is the sump for? Is that just so you can have your filters and heaters somewhere other than the main tank?

Hmmm...its a fairly decent offer, depends on how old the set-up is. Oceanic makes very good aquariums and stands and usually is one of the more expensive high end aquarium brands. Also if its drilled and has bulkheads or overflow that adds even more money to the tank. The protein skimmer could be really nice or pretty bad, so you have to find out what kind it is. Depending how much live rock there is, it could ba a really good offer. In most areas live rock costs $4-8 dollars a pound...if there is a lot do the math. All in all I would probably try to bring down the price a little bit, but if the skimmer is nice, the stand is oceanic, and there is a lot of nice rock, its a pretty good deal.

Ps. Ask about lighting.
