Good "pals" for Yellow Labs?

If we decided to do our 40g breeder mbuna tank with just two species, and labs are one of them, who would be a good species to use? Who would look nice in contrast to the yelow, and not be a dangerously aggressive fish?

(I am hoping for someone blue, but I'm open to all ideas, as I am a beginner in the world of African Cichlids.)

I think Pseudotropheus socolofi would make a good choice. And a nice blue contrast.

They, IMO, are on the same level with labs for beginners and shouldn't get to rowdy...though they have the potential to.

There are many blue mbuna species you can choose from. Most are compatable with labs but the dogtooth cichlid may be more aggressive than others.

There are several species of "dogtooth" cichlid or Cynotilapia sp. and many variants.
IMO a trio of Cyno./Met./Pseudo. kingsizei/pulpican won't disappoint!

Ah, nice choices...but remember this is a small tank. Only a 40g breeder size. 36x18.

I have been seriously thinking about psuedotropheus socolofi.
