Hey everyone. I just had to write a quick "farewell" for Gary, my second Gold Snail. He was the head honcho in my 12-gallon and I just picked him up a week ago.
When I first got him, he loved to climb everything. He made sure to check out every plant and every corner of the treasure chest. He was very active (though I noticed one of his tentacles was smaller than the other....poor guy). He grabbed lettuce from my hands, which was great.
Here's my only pic of him:

He's climbing the middle plant.
Unfortunately, a few days ago he was climbing the red treasure chest and the next thing I noticed, he was locked up TIGHT in his shell. Knowing snails have a tendency to make me think they're dead, I left him alone. After a couple days, he still didn't move. Just to make sure he was okay, I put him in a cup of tank water for the evening. The next night, he...well.....let's just say began the stinking process.
My X-Ray tetras are sad I'm sure. But, I wanted to say farewell Gary. We hardly new ya', but I hope your last algea wafer and lettuce piece were the best ever.
RIP
Chris
