Got Mantis?!

but not on purpose...lol

i saw him a couple days ago hanging out in a little crevice...probably about 1.5 to 2in long right now...interesting sort of blue color. i haven't yet had any snailacides or crabicides so i plan to not deal with him until he becomes an issue. i tried to get a couple pics, but he was being uncooperative. he must have come in on my LR back in august cause i sure didn't buy him

you can always eat him...or throw him in your sump

i actually spoke to the lfs owner today and he says if/when i get him out he will take him

Good luck getting him out - I read quite the escapades it took to get some out on another forum. It involved soda bottle traps.

I've seen a huge 8 inches peacock Mantis Shrimp beeing fed. Woa..astrea snails for lunch..one shot and the shell is destroyed. Alone with some LR ..this is scary but beautiful. Looks like a psychedelic lobster with weapons.
You could keep it in another tank, as Managuense said. Could be fun to make a movie clip
