gourami cold sores?

one of my red dwarf gouramis has a little red bump on his lower lip, close to his cheek. he has had it since about a month after i bought him. but, it comes and goes, sometimes i cant see it, and sometimes it is bluntly obvious. i dont think its threatening, but is it something i need to worry more about? (id get a pic, but hes camera shy)

what are your water parameters? it is proabably a bacterial infection, and the most common way of treating unknown stuff without treatment is waterchanges. Probably 25-50% biweekly should help it out. Your tank also looks fairly overstocked, and this could be the problem, just poor water quality, not sure what it is, but if he has lived for a month, then its probably not too serious, but do the wc, if it has had that for a month with the stocking of your tank he is probably miserable, just getting freshened up for 2 weeks should help it.
