Gourami in a 29g?

I think 4 would work nicely, just be sure to get 1 Male & 3 Female, or all female. Also try to stick with the smaller Gourami (Dwarf) The Honey Gourami are really pretty, I've seen them in some really cool color variations.

It seems to me this question has been answered in great detail somewhere else....just can't find the thread.

A real basic way is to look at the dorsal fin (the end closest to the tail) If the fin ends in a point it's likely a male (should be fairly obvious), if the fin is more rounded it's likely a female. Now, this works with the few Gourami species I've kept, (Dwarf, Honey, Opaline and most recently "3 spot"). It may not however be a "pefect ID' for all Gourami. I would do some research, and look at some pics. Find the type you like then research sexing those specifically.
