Gourami lipstick?

I have a beautiful Opaline Gourami who is in very good health; nice appetite, not sickly, nothing. Except for her mouth. Her lips appear to be a nice, pretty shade of pink, like she's just put lipstick on. Still, it's not swollen or anything, and like I say, she acts just fine. So is this normal, or do I have something to worry about? Or do I just have a weird gourami?

Just one note: would the fact that I am feeding her bright red color-enhancing food (mainly meant for my guppies) have anything to do with it? She's the only one that eats a lot of it and yet never has bright red poo like the rest of them...

Hey, c'mon! I'm just asking whether or not I have a weird gourami! Just tell me--do YOUR gouramis have pink lips or not?

The only time I've ever seen pinkish lips on my Blue Gouramis, Trichogaster trichopterus , was once right after I got my new male. He was in the earliest stages of a mouth fungus which I cleared up very quickly. Other than that....nope....never seen THAT before!

I wouldn't worry about it sounds like it's just your gourami's natural color. The color enhancing food is almost certainly to blame.

Yeah, well, in any case, I don't have much to worry about anymore when it comes to my Gourami... it died just this morning due to unknown causes, though I don't think that had anything to do with its mouth. So...yeah.
