Hey!

I need some help. I have a smallish dwarf gourami, which I will get a picture of, that has several patches of white on it.

They are slightly raised like lumps, a coupel mm down from the dorsal fin all teh way down the back.

There is about 5 in total on both sides and they are about 2 mm in diameter and some are more white than others.

Also the fish appears to have a small bit out of its bottom fin but that could just be from the other fish so I don't know if it's related.

Tank size and other fish can be found in my signature, none of which seem to have the same syptoms. The tank has been running since christmas, and I don;t know whether this matters but the fish has seemed strange since we have got it, smaller than the other and quite shy although this may just be the type of fish it is (i think its a he).

I will test the water and get back to you, meanwhile what can I do! Please help, anything about this will help, I have scanned the disease page but I'm a bit confused so I need your assistance!

Thanks,

Cas!

we think it is fungus. its seems to have infected the other gouramis too, the powder blue one has a slight one on top of its head and and half a cm behind his side fin the orange gourami has a hole sort of? Is that an affect of a fungal infection too? We put a solution in, it's green and its for fungal infections. Any more help please!

I've recently treated something that sounds similar to that on some of my angelfish. I used something called "Pimafix," which is an API brand product. Supposedly it is 'all-natural' in the sense that it contains natural herbs and no actual 'medicinal drugs' per se. Who knows?

All I know is that it worked like a charm.
Fuzz encountered something similar with her discus earlier, and from the latest news she's given, the Pimafix treatment is helping.

BUT, I'm NOT recommending that you use it in conjunction with what you're currently using, because it may overwhelm the fish. The Pimafix is just something to keep in mind for if you find that the stuff you've put in there doesn't seem to be getting the job done. (if it comes down to that, do some big water-changes prior to treating with Pimafix or any other new type of treatment)

The fish got worse, its head started to get like a decaying hole/lump in it as well as all the other white lumps. Can hole in the head or whatever its called do that?

Also the other fish still hs the hole in its side plus a very slight white lump, and the other powder blue one is getting a smallish white spot/lump as well.

It doesnt seem to have spread to the other fish just the gouramis, the "fungal" treatment hasn't worked yet.

Could this be a bacterial infection, fungal or hole in the head although only the smaller one has it along with its other syptoms. PLEASE HELP!!!!
