Gourami today I hope!

My mom said that I could get a dwarf gourami today, and I just wanted to verify what I've heard before: I should only get one, right? I'm planning on getting the flame dwarf one btw.

Also, a bit off topic (who am I kidding, this has nothing to do with gouramis), does anyone know how to sex german rams? I didn't want to start a thread for that, it's a kinda dumb reason to start a thread!

You only want one male dwarf gourami because they are territorial and will fight. You can get a couple females but its really hard to find them and they are pretty dull colored.

Not necessarily, they don't normally go in caves, at least mine never have. Which tank are you getting him for?

Yeah I think you definitely need some more plants and stuff, just to make it more visually appealing. You don't necessarily need some for the gourami though. Just buy some plastic/silk plants unless you want real ones. Make sure to get them in different heights too, so that they don't look so fake

Yeah, I know I need some, I am planning on getting some today when I get the gourami. Oh, and what type of food do I need for the gourami?

And I'll post updated pics the second I get the plants and the gourami in there.

Just regular flake food will work fine, the same thing you feed your danios.

the wat to sex blue rams is rather simple i think, Males have most of the bright irridescent blue speckles inside of the black spots and the females almost always have a pink colored belly males do not.

Well I got the gourami, but pics tomorrow, cuz the camera is outa batteries. Now I need to know how to sex gouramis, lol. Can anyone help with that? I want to know whether name it the "King" or "Queen" of the tank, which it certainly is.

Male Dwarf Gouramis have all the color, Females are a plane silver or blue I think? All I can find locally are the males. My male likes to stay in a cave part of the night.
