The dorsal fin on a female Gourami is short and rounded, the dorsal fin on a male is longer and pointed.

Ok thanks! Now i have another question. I have rite now 2 of those silver 3-spot gouramis in my tank its like 10 gallon, what else can i put in the tank? I really like those neons, how many of those can i put in my tank?

Well, your tank is almost fully stocked, and Blue Gouramis can be pretty aggressive, so I wouldn't stock them with any small communtiy type fish like neons.

Yeah, blue gouramis get too big for a 10g...so you'll eventually have to upgrade. And they can be aggressive.

If both gouramis are male, I'd take one back to the LFS...well really, I'd take both back and get a dwarf gourami and some neons or another small school of tetras.

My blue gourami is about 4 inches now...and the ruler of my 29g tank.
